Messages for Europe and North Africa

On the last conference day, we asked some of the participants the outcomes after four days of exchange and collaboration. Agnieszka from Poland, Maartje from the Netherlands, Gihan from Egypt and Gunnar from Norway let us know their messages for Europe and North Africa.



Driss Maghraoui

Driss Maghraoui is a professor of History and International Relations at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (Morocco). He teaches courses on North African immigration in Europe, modern imperialism and its culture, history of the Arab world, and history and memory in 20th century Europe.



Thomas Krüger

Thomas Krüger is the president of the German Federal Agency for Civic Education/bpb. The bpb established the NECE network and hosts the conference.



Mona Shahein: Democracy has to be taken

Mona Shahein from Egypt runs the project www.tahrirlounge.com in Cairo. The network wants to build a strong and tolerant community for young people which is capable of recruiting positive energies on the social and political levels.
